NAIDOC Week 2026
50 Years of Deadly | 5–12 July

Celebrate NAIDOC Week, 5–12 July, at Libraries with hands-on activities. Discover the natural colours hidden all around us in a Botanical Eco-printing workshop and explore the storytelling traditions of Aboriginal culture through dot art. Drop in to your local library to browse the curated book displays.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements of the oldest, continuing cultures on Earth. This year’s theme 50 Years of Deadly is a tribute to the people who built this movement: the Elders who stood strong, the organisers who created space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who continue to lead, share and celebrate culture every year.
Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We commit to working in partnership with the Traditional Custodians, the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples, and the broader First Nations community to support self-determination through economic and community development.
