Aboriginal dot art
The stories behind the symbols | 7 Jul-9 Jul | 3 sessions

Join the team from REFOCUS for a cultural painting experience that explores Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dot painting traditions. Listen to indigenous stories and learn about the meanings behind commonly used symbols, colours and patterns. Discover how they are used to share stories, knowledge and culture. Each participant will get to paint and keep their own rock, using First Nations symbology to tell a story. Learn, create, and develop a deeper connection to cultural art practices.
Can’t make it to any the sessions? Don’t fret! Drop in to your local library to enjoy a self-led rock painting activity, available all week.
Free. Registration essential. All ages.
