Seed library
Start seed swapping at your local library
Seed libraries offer the community access to grab, grow and donate seeds in a sustainable way. The Seed Library is free and open to anyone with a library membership. Similar to your usual library borrowing experience, a seed library allows the community to “borrow” seeds from library to grow at home, and return some seeds once the plant has matured.
Donations can be made into the donations box with any available resource – example: an old envelope, a paper bag, a zip lock bag, or the supplied Seed Library envelopes. Just add the following seed details to ensure the seeds can be saved and sorted:
- Common name
- Variety
- Date collected
- Conditions of growth (sunlight, water, when to plant, ideal spacing and harvest time)

Where is the seed library available?
Seed Libraries are available at all library branches and mobile libraries during open hours.
