NAIDOC Week 2024

Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud | 7-14 July 2024

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held around Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It incorporates the second Friday of July, which historically was celebrated as ‘National Aboriginal Day’.

This years’ National NAIDOC theme is Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.

The Sunshine Coast region is situated on Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) and Jinibara country, the traditional owners and custodians of the land.

With a deep history in the Sunshine Coast the Gubbi Gubbi peoples and Jinibara peoples share their stories of country and culture for all Australians to learn and celebrate the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture and heritage the Sunshine Coast has on offer throughout NAIDOC week and further into the future to Keep the Fire Burning.
