World of Hand Weaving

In 1975, Suzy discovered weaving at the Buderim Craft Cottage, marking the start of a lifelong passion. That same year, she married a bloke who could build basically anything! When asked to build a table loom, he instead built her a floor loom—laying the foundation for decades of creativity.

Now, 50 years later, this exhibition celebrates her journey ‘falling over the edge of reason’ and ‘into the world of hand weaving’. The featured works have been woven on looms ranging from a simple rigid heddle to a state-of-the-art Digital Jacquard loom from Norway, showcasing five decades of artistry, innovation, and dedication to the craft.
