John Allgood came to painting later in life, teaching himself through curiosity and instinct. Inspired by landscapes, he focuses on the impressions places leave behind - memories of colour, shape, and light rather than literal scenes.
After travelling across Australia, his work shifted to reflect the country’s vastness and contrast, blending observation with emotion. Each painting offers a quiet translation of place and how it made him feel.
