Our Collection Curators have put together a small selection of ceramic works by Johanna DeMaine and her partner Tatsuya Tsutsui.

Commencing potting in 1971, Johanna is a former Landsborough long-term resident and artist. She has had over 40 solo exhibitions, participated in 200+ group exhibitions and won numerous awards. Her work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia as well in public art galleries, museums and government collections both nationally and internationally.

She has exhibited extensively overseas and her work features in the collections of HRH Queen Elizabeth II of England, Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark and the Governor General of Australia.

In a professional career spanning over 53 years, she has perfected a range of techniques through extensive study, hard work and experience to create her exquisite pieces, many of which continue to be inspired by the beautiful surrounds of the Glasshouse Mountains region as well as Japan.
