Amigurumi by Lily Smith

Amigurumi crochet | 1 Apr-30 Apr | Kawana

Lily Smith is an amigurumi crochet artist based on the Sunshine Coast. She learned to crochet three years ago during a time of personal loss, after her sister passed away. Crochet was something her sister loved, and learning the skill became Lily’s way of honouring her memory.

Lily is self‑taught. She developed her skills step by step using online tutorials and books borrowed from Sunshine Coast Libraries. Over time, crochet grew from a quiet activity into a creative passion.

Lily now specialises in amigurumi — small crocheted characters made with care and detail. She enjoys transforming simple yarn into pieces full of personality and warmth.

Today, crochet is more than a hobby for Lily. It provides comfort, creativity and connection. Every piece she makes reflects patience, care and a love of the craft.
