Interlibrary loans
Request books not held by Sunshine Coast Libraries from other library services
Sunshine Coast Libraries can request books from other library services for our members.
Check the library catalogue or ask a staff member to see if the item you are after is available.
If the item is not available, an interlibrary loan or purchase request can be made. Items may take over four weeks to arrive.
Interlibrary loans can be borrowed for three weeks. Renewals may be possible but you will need to speak with a staff member before the due date.
Charges
Libraries seeks to borrow items from libraries that do not charge for interlibrary loans. Every State Library outside of Queensland, the National Library of Australia, universities and specialist libraries charge for interlibrary loans. Members can request to proceed or not to proceed if the fee of up to $34.40 is applied. Once the item has been sent, charges are payable even if the item is cancelled or not loaned.
Charges may apply for lost or damaged interlibrary loan items.
Eligibility
Members of the library are eligible to use the interlibrary loan service. Visitor members with a mobile phone number can use the service.
