Interlibrary loans

Sunshine Coast Libraries can request books from other library services for our members.

Check Sunshine Coast Libraries catalogue or ask a Sunshine Coast Libraries employee to see if the item you are after is available at your local library.

If the item is not available an interlibrary loan request can be made. Items may take over four weeks to arrive.

Sunshine Coast Libraries will consider your suggestions for purchase. Request an item

Interlibrary loans can be borrowed for three weeks. Renewals may be possible however you will need to organise a renewal with a library employee before the due date.

Charges

Sunshine Coast Libraries seeks to borrow items from libraries that do not charge for interlibrary loans. Every State Library outside of Queensland, the National Library of Australia, universities and specialist libraries charge for interlibrary loans. Members can request to proceed or not to proceed if the fee of up to $33.60 is applied. Once the item has been sent, charges are payable even if the item is cancelled or not picked up.

Charges may apply for lost or damaged interlibrary loan items.
