Step into a day of ideas and shared imagination as Library+ Caloundra opens its doors to create new stories for Radical Hope Machine 2, part of Horizon Festival 2026.

Everyone is welcome to experiment with words alongside award‑winning writer Peter Carnavas. 

Craft super‑short stories for the Radical Hope Machine, then record them on the spot with professional voice artists in Library+ Caloundra’s new digital studio. 

All stories created will feature in the Horizon Festival exhibition, Radical Hope Machine 2

No experience needed – just curiosity and enthusiasm.

Free. Drop in session. Registration not required. Ages 16 and over.

About Peter Carnavas  

Peter Carnavas writes and illustrates stories for children. He has created over twenty books, many of which have been shortlisted or won awards. His work has been translated into many languages across the world, and he has presented at many festivals and schools around Australia. Peter’s most recent novel, Leo and Ralph, was awarded an Australian Book Industry Award and the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Children’s Literature. Peter lives in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with his family. He divides his time between writing and working as a teacher-librarian.
