Climate ready community

Play, plan and prepare together | 16 Jun-26 Jun | 8 sessions

How prepared are you for our changing climate on the Sunshine Coast? Join Council for a free, interactive workshop featuring The Adaptation Game. While playing you will explore real‑world weather and climate challenges. Work with other locals to explore scenarios like heatwaves, storms, fires and flooding, and discover simple actions you can take at home and in your neighbourhood. Build confidence, hear local perspectives, and learn how communities can prepare and respond together.

Supported by Council’s Disaster Management team.

The Adaptation Game

The Adaptation Game helps people learn how climate change affects our lives now and in the future. It looks at extreme weather events such as heatwaves, floods, and bushfires. It also explores long-term changes like hotter temperatures, rising sea levels, and heavier rainfall.

The game encourages people to think about how these changes could affect them, their families, and their community over time. It also highlights practical actions that individuals and communities can take to get ready for climate-related events and recover after they happen.

Disaster Hub - Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Council's Disaster Hub brings together disaster and hazard related information from within Council. Check evacuation centre locations and closed road updates, unplanned power outages, weather warnings and more.
