The family history collection is located in Nambour, Caloundra and Maroochydore Libraries. For a complete list of items, browse the genealogy collection. Primary records and indexes are on CD-ROM, microfiche and microfilm.

Topics include:

  • Birth, death and marriage indexes for all Australian states
  • Shipping records and indexes
  • Convict indents
  • Monumental inscriptions
  • Land records
  • Probate indexes
  • Post office directories.

While the emphasis is on Australian content, some overseas records are available, mainly on CD-ROM.

Ancestry.com

Ancestry.com is a leading family history and genealogy website. Users can research census records, immigration and military records, family histories and historical maps.

Access Ancestry Library using a public PC in the library.

Queensland Government Family History

An excellent family history resource. Includes a free, downloadable quarterly magazine, and tips on historical research, from the Queensland Government’s Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces website.

Queensland State Archives

Custodian of the State's largest and most significant collection of government records and an invaluable research facility for those researching their family tree, local history or other area of special interest.

State Library of Queensland

Excellent genealogy information and resources, including births, deaths and marriages in Australia, New Zealand, England and Wales.
