Locals and visitors are invited on a journey through the colourful streets of Caloundra to uncover hidden art treasures and meet amazing local businesses along the way.

As a haven for art and culture, Caloundra has a rich and captivating history which is brought to life through a free monthly guided tour.

Starting at the Caloundra Regional Gallery, participants will enjoy insights into the latest exhibitions before wandering through the streets for a visual feast of murals, sculptures and intriguing 3D installations.

You can discover a lighthouse painting tucked away beside a popular café, the eye-catching “Dingle Wall’’ by Stephen Bordonaro and Cassie Lee and the Sunshine Coast’s first augmented reality mural, the "Looking Glass Fish in the Deep Hue Sea" by George Rose and Stu Campbell.

Lighthouse is a collaboration by Adam Lewczuk, David Houghton, Ryan Sullivan and Lydon Davis.

Held on the last Thursday of every month at 8.30am, the tour starts at Caloundra Regional Art Gallery and is an easy one-hour walk covers three blocks.

Since Shop Caloundra chairperson and best-selling author Kim McCosker launched the tour in June 2023, it has become a popular attraction, drawing hundreds of curious individuals.

Caloundra Regional Gallery Manager & Curator Jo Duke encouraged everyone to take part.

“The tour is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or ability,” Jo said.

“Art holds a unique meaning for each individual and this tour allows you to unravel the stories and purpose behind each creation.

“The tour is also a great opportunity to make new friends and meet some amazing local businesses and community members.

“So, gather your friends and neighbours, lace up those comfy shoes and join us on the last Thursday of every month to uncover the wonders of Caloundra’s art scene.”
