About the artists

Ron and Cathie Twaddle are wicker workers and for the last 40 years they have run their business 'And Woven Cane' in Brisbane. Their connection with the Sunshine Coast began long ago as Cathie's parents have lived in West Woombye for many years. About 30 years ago they bought a couple of acres of bushland in Tanawha which they eventually moved to. After closing their shop in Brisbane at the end of 2018, Ron began to think of what else he could do to occupy himself. Then four years ago, he found a piece of deadfall wood in the bush, and decided to incorporate it into a basket, using all the skills he accumulated over the years. Visit the And woven cane website.
