Helping parents of newborns stay connected

Library book stork delivery service

The Library Book Stork Delivery Service is a pilot service. The aim is to support parents during the first 12 months at home with a new baby by providing easy access to library items at a time when getting out of the house may be challenging.

We are currently seeking families in the following Sunshine Coast suburbs to be part of our initial trial: 4553, 4556, 4557, 4572, 4575

The program includes:

  • Welcome Pack sent to family home prior to program commencement
  • Library staff and trained library volunteers working in partnership with parents to identify and select early literacy and family items from the library collection
  • A range of items are available including, but not limited to, board books, toys, CDs, picture books, picture audio books, adult fiction, and non-fiction items
  • Items are delivered to the home on a regular short-term basis, with items due for return also picked up at each visit

The volunteers will not enter your home. This is a delivery service only. You must be a library member to participate. If you do not currently have a membership, one will be created for you.

In the event of volunteer unavailability, library staff may deliver the items.

Register your interest.
