Celebrate Queensland Seniors Month in October with Sunshine Coast Libraries. Book your ticket to enjoy a daytime screening of Strictly Ballroom with complimentary choc-top ice cream or register for one of the many live workshops and sessions across Libraries.
Seniors Month runs from 1 to 31 October 2021. Seniors Month recognises the valuable contribution of seniors in the community – whether as volunteers or in the workforce, community leaders or carers, grandparents, or advocates. The month of celebration also provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people. It allows community participation and enhanced community connection that aligns with the Queensland Government and Council on the Ageing (COTA) vision of building age-friendly communities in Queensland.
Connecting with one another has never been more important. Using Social Connections as a theme, Seniors Month provides people of all ages, cultures, and abilities to connect through inclusive events and activities.
