Story Walk

Sunshine Coast Libraries and Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens have joined forces to celebrate the annual Summer Reading Club and to promote the First 5 Forever early literacy initiative with a Story Walk.

A Story Walk is an innovative way to experience a children’s picture book. The pages of a picture book are enlarged and spread along an outdoor or large indoor space.

Children and their families move through the space, from one page to another, to read the book.

The Story Walk features 'Koalas eat gum leaves' by Sunshine Coast author/illustrator duo Laura and Philip Bunting. The title is published by Scholastic.

'Koalas eat gum leaves' is the hysterical story of one Koala who has had enough of gum leaves and is on the lookout for some tastier tucker.

While you are there why not try to find all the curious creatures that live in the gardens! Check out the great holiday activities also on offer at the Botanic Gardens.
