A book is like a door. You walk through the cover and you don’t know what you’re going to find. - Emily Rodda

Emily Rodda is an Australian children's book author best-known for the Deltora Quest, Rowan of Rin and Rondo series.

Her first book, Something Special, was published in 1984. It began as a bedtime story she told to her young daughter, the eldest of her four children. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Emily Rodda has since written more than 100 books for children, ranging from picture books to novels.

Emily Rodda is passionate about children's reading, believing that books stimulate the imagination and teach logic and empathy in a way that games and movies cannot. Her books often take young readers to magical lands, where heroes must solve puzzles and mysteries to save the day.
