International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world on 8 March. It is a day to all recognise the achievement of women in a variety of fields. IWD emerged from the trade labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century. This year’s theme, Changing Climates: Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow recognises the contribution of women and girls around the world who are working to change the climate of gender equality and build a sustainable future. source
