Family History
Sunshine Coast Libraries offer printed, micro-format and computer-based resources, plus expert volunteer assistance to help you with the detective work.
The Genealogy collection of Sunshine Coast Libraries is located in Nambour, Caloundra, Noosa and Maroochydore Libraries. For a complete list of items, browse the genealogy collection (a large file, which may take some time to download). The substantial number of primary records and indexes on CD-ROM, microfiche and microfilm include:
- Birth, death and marriage indexes for all Australian states;
- Shipping records and indexes;
- Convict indents;
- Monumental inscriptions;
- Land records;
- Probate indexes;
- Post office directories.
While the emphasis is on Australian content, some overseas records are available, mainly on CD-ROM.
Finding your way around the Sunshine Coast Libraries Catalogue fact sheet [PDF 1.2MB] will assist in finding resources via the library catalogue.
