Databases A - Z What is an Online Database?
Online databases are not available through Google or other search engines. Online databases are collections of articles from journals, magazines, books and other sources. Libraries subscribe to databases for members to use at no cost – at home, on the go, or in the library
Why use an online database?
Website information can be irrelevant or even incorrect. Online databases contain reliable information on particular subjects. The work of contributors is thoroughly researched, then reviewed by other specialists.
How do I use an online database?
Choose a database from the list below and click to access. Use your Sunshine Coast Libraries membership card number to log in. If you are asked to set up a QPL account this is a one off request and will only take a few minutes. Choose Sunshine Coast Libraries and fill in the online form, wait for your fast email confirmation from SLQ, then you're ready to go! Make a note of your username and password for future searches. No login required indicates direct access.
Search your topic, print it out, save it or email it.
