Library Collections

Sunshine Coast Libraries cater for all ages and interests with an exciting range of books, CDs, magazines, DVDs and more.

Audio Book  Includes both fiction and non-fiction for all interests and age levels. Available in CD, MP3 formats. eAudio books are also available from Bolinda and Overdrive.
Adult Fiction

Includes a wide range of best selling and popular fiction, as well as literary classics, works by new and local authors, award winning titles, Australian fiction and translations of the works of major non-English speaking writers.

Adult Non Fiction Includes popular high interest educational, recreational, cultural and informational materials on a wide range of subject areas.
Beginner Readers This collection has lots of readers for the early years, and for shared reading with an adult, that encourage learning.
Book Club A varied selection of interesting literary and best selling titles, exclusively for Book Clubs.
DVD

The collection includes adult and children’s feature films, educational and instructional programs, documentaries, literary adaptations, live music performances, non-English language productions and television series no longer screening on air. Priority is given to Australian productions art house films, classic films, major award-winning films and movies with a link to a book.

eBooks A variety of interesting and popular titles, fiction and non-fiction, availble in ePub and pdf format from Overdive.
Genealogy A comprehensive collection of materials designed to assist in genealogical research
Junior Fiction Includes popular, high demand, high interest and enduring works of fiction. It may include works with a high illustrative content and Australian books.
Junior Non Fiction A range of interesting, attractive, well designed and age appropriate information books for children up to 12 years of age, which aim to answer or pique a child’s curiosity about themselves and the world around them.
Large Type Includes a wide range of fiction and popular non-fiction in both hardback and paperback formats.
Literacy Includes recreational and informational titles at varying reading levels in a range of subjects, in print and non-print formats.
Local Studies Includes Books, magazines, oral histories, cassettes, videos, DVD, compact discs, microfilm, pamphlets, realia, photographs, maps, diaries, personal papers concerning the area and its inhabitants, Local Studies File of newspaper clippings and other ephemeral material.
Magazines Includes publications that cover a range of subject material relevant to local needs.
Music A wide cross section of music on compact disc in a variety of musical styles including jazz, blues, classical, pop, folk, etc. An emphasis is placed on Australian music.
Paperback A browsing collection of popular fiction paperbacks covering all genres e.g. romance, mystery, etc.
Picture Book A collection of interesting, attractive, well designed and age appropriate picture books for children from birth to about 8 years, and while primarily for children, adults who are interested in illustration will find plenty of material to interest them.
Picture Sunshine Coast Comprises photographs that illustrate the history, growth, social development and lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast.
Red Hot Reads Can't wait for the latest best sellers? Then Red Hot Reads is for you – pay only $4 for a 10 day loan.
Reference Includes electronic databases, general and specialist encyclopaedias, dictionaries; atlases, gazetteers and ABS publications which are available for research within the library only.
Toy Includes a collection of resources for children to meet a wide range of educational, recreational and developmental stages.
World Languages Titles in various languages.
Young Adult Fiction Aims to represent a top selection of quality reading for young adults with an emphasis on Australian authors and content. Includes graphic novels, Manga titles, Movies and Television novelisations.
